Who We Are
We are fed up of the poor quality of fresh produce which you can buy in the supermarket. We want farm fresh produce right in the centre of the city without preservatives, pesticides, and grown locally.
By utilising plant science and low-cost electronics and software, we can revolutionise how we grow fresh produce. By building a controlled environment agriculture system, we can grow ultra high-quality herbs and microgreens in the centre of the city, reducing the strain on soils and spent farmland.
Sapling is a technology company at heart. We are obsessed with science, technology, data, and of course food! We are passionate about injecting robotics and technology into food production to push our food system to adapt to an ever-changing climate and ultimately increase sustainability.
Dr Manish Patel
Managing Director
Manish holds a Masters degree in Physics and a PhD in Atomic Physics from the University of Manchester. In-between studying for these degrees, he spent one year at a renewable energy asset management firm where he analysed large datasets and managed several solar farms across the UK.
Adrian Parisi
Technical Director
Adrian holds two Masters degrees, Space Engineering from the Polictecnico di Milano and Physics from the University of Manchester. In between studying these degrees he obtained two years of industry experience as a software developer working on subject matters such as embedded technology and artificial intelligence.
